I guess you could say Woodford’s story began many years ago when my mother placed an aromatherapy book in my hands.
Fast forward to 2020; the world gripped in a pandemic I found myself caring for my mum and realised our most special times were when I took her hand and massaged her. As a qualified Aromatherapist I made her some balms; carefully selecting and blending oils. I created a range; one to soothe and comfort, one to help her sleep at night and another to awaken and stimulate her in the morning. She loved them, I did too!
With social distancing and lockdown in our lives our care workers came to the fore with fearless dedication and courage. Theirs was a labour of love; carers held our elders hands, they gave the hugs on behalf of the families locked outside. I was driven to serve this sector, I wanted dearly to share what I had with my mum to the outside world.
The balms gained laboratory approval, my daughter designed my logo, my brother created my labels. Cheered on by friends and family I took my products to market and it delighted me when they were instantly well received and so appreciated by carers and residents.
A home grown success that radiated outwards connecting people through massage and scent, a real language of love that helps to end touch poverty.
So that’s how our story began, triumph in the face of adversity. A comforting remedy born in the darkest of times.
